Summer groups will take place in the weeks between July 7-24.
Most groups will meet 2-3x a week.
Study Skills Bootcamp remote group for students going into grades 7-12.
The cost is $350 for 6 sessions (45 minutes).
The focus of this group is on the following modules:
- Time management
- Organization of materials and space
- Learning preferences – what does it mean?
- Effective and efficient studying
- Memory strategies
- Metacognition – let’s get META about thinking
- Resilience and grit- how to find courage, hope and strength to try again after failure
We will focus on how to integrate these skills into school and daily lives. Students will leave prepared with “tools” in their toolbox. They will feel better prepared to start the upcoming school year.
Reading is My Superpower- remote or in-person group for students going into grades 6-9.
The cost is $350. It will meet for 6 sessions (45 minutes).
This group will choose short stories, poems and even a book to improve reading and writing skills. We will focus on:
- Reading fluency
- Comprehension
- Author’s craft and mood
- Annotation techniques
- Write insightful pieces about our reading
- Unlock how setting, plot and theme can influence characters
- Construct book reviews and alternative endings to our literary pieces
We will refine our ability to read and write as we share in the joy of reading. Students will leave having focused on their summer reading requirements, and developed skills that will transfer to the school year.
Number Ninjas – in-person groups for students going into grades 5-6 or 7-9.
The cost is $350. It will meet for 6 sessions (45 minutes).
Some of our fun activities will be applying our math skills to a mathematical escape room and mathematical games.
These groups will focus on:
- Numeracy
- Problem solving strategies
- Relationship between decimals, fractions and percents
- Fractions and ratios
- Area and volume
- Order of operations
- Rational expressions and equations
- Linear equations and inequalities
- Geometry
We will focus on re-teaching and pre-teaching in each group. Students will leave with a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts along with their “tools” to solve multi-step problems.
Learning Coaching- Summer package (6 sessions) in-person or remote individual session for students going into grades 5-post-secondary.
The cost is $570 for 6 sessions (45 minutes).
Subject matter can include reading, writing, math, executive functioning skills, and post-secondary options. This package is available for June, July and parts of August.
