Summer groups will take place in the weeks between July 6th and July 24th. Groups will meet either 2 or 3 times a week.
Study Skills Bootcamp remote group
for students going into grades 7-12. The cost is $360 for 6 sessions (45 minutes).
The focus of this group is on the following modules:
- Time management
- Organization of materials and space
- Learning preferences – what does it mean?
- Effective and efficient studying
- Memory strategies
- Metacognition – let’s get META about thinking
- Resilience and grit- how to find courage, hope, and strength to try again after failure
We will focus on how to integrate these skills into school and daily lives. Students will leave prepared with “tools” in their toolbox. They will feel better prepared to start the upcoming school year.
Number Ninjas
in-person groups for students going into grades 5-6 and 7-9. The cost is $360. It will meet for 6 sessions (45 minutes). Some of our fun activities will include applying our math skills in a Math Jeopardy game, mazes, Kahoot, Scavenger Hunt, or other game formats.
This group will focus on:
- Numeracy
- Problem-solving strategies
- Relationship between decimals, fractions, and percents
- Fractions and Ratios
- Area and volume
- Order of operations
- Rational Expressions and Equations
- Linear equations and inequalities
- Geometry
We will focus on re-teaching and pre-teaching in each group. Students will leave with a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts along with their “tools” to solve multi-step problems.
Adulting 101 (6 sessions)
in-person group for teens and young adults. The cost is $360 for 6 sessions (45 minutes). One or two sessions may need to be held at a different location. These classes will focus on:
- Budgeting/Financial skills
- Communication skills
- Household skills
- Stress Management/ Digital Life
Sessions will focus on practical skills that can be utilized in daily lives, with homework given after each session. Follow-up sessions can be scheduled (as needed) for additional skill acquisition.
